SAMATVAM MEDITATION AND YOG CENTER (SMYC) is a non-profit organization, teaching the highest quality of mindfulness, meditation, and yog as well as leadership and self-development practices curated from ancient wisdom with modern application, operating online and in-person and open for all.

SAMATVAM or SAMATTVA is a Sanskrit word that means “equanimity”. The word “equanimity” comes from the combination of two Latin terms: aequus, meaning “even, level” and animus, meaning “mind” or “spirit.” Equanimity is characterized by the ability to remain calm, composed, open, and non-reactive in the face of challenging or distressing situations and face such situations with more clarity and wisdom. It’s a state of mind that we can actively cultivate.

Motivation behind SMYC

The motivation behind SMYC is an underlying urge to appreciate mindfulnessmeditationyoga, Ayurveda and ancient wisdom in all its dimensions and to encourage and support the journey of every individual towards self-transformation by exploring these different dimensions.

At Samatvam Meditation and Yoga Center, we are more than a wellness space — we’re a conscious community devoted to personal and collective transformation. As a nonprofit organization, our mission is to make authentic practices of meditation, mindfulness, Ayurveda, and yoga accessible to all, regardless of background or experience.

Whether you’re seeking stillness, healing, growth, or connection, you’ll find a place here.

“The 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Samatvam was life-changing. It wasn’t just about learning poses — it was about learning who I am. The blend of philosophy, breathwork, and self-reflection gave me tools I still use every day. The instructors were deeply knowledgeable, humble, and genuinely cared about our growth.”

Warrior II Yoga Asana

“I came to Samatvam feeling burnt out and disconnected. After attending a weekend mindfulness workshop, something shifted. The practices were simple but powerful, and the facilitators created such a grounded, safe space. I left feeling more centered than I had in years. This place is a gem for anyone seeking clarity and peace.”
— Maya S., San Francisco

“Every time I walk into Samatvam, I feel like I can breathe again. The guided meditation classes have become my weekly sanctuary. Even in silence, there’s so much presence and warmth in the room. I’m so grateful to have found a community that honors both inner stillness and real-life transformation.”
